Summary

Perform planning related activities in the area of vehicle electronics commissioning, testing, and Volkswagen factory production system

Responsibilities

  • Planning in the field of electronics with the focus on universal testing system “UPS” and electronic checking system in electrics/electronics for Pre-Series/Series vehicle manufacturing department
  • Support in Pre-Development of vehicle Programming and Package allocation within the Final Assembly
  • Pro-actively support the Pre-Series/Series build of Electric Vehicles at Volkswagen Chattanooga Plant.
  • Cross-Functional Analysis of system errors in complex electrical scopes and introduction of counter measures.
  • Planning, coordination, and implementation of solutions regarding product, quality, and process-related problems for prototype vehicles, including tracking of measures between the areas of planning, quality assurance, and technical development
  • Recognizing and applying suitable solutions for technical and functional improvement of the vehicle components.
  • Advise project partners from technical development and implement solutions in new vehicle projects
  • Tracking of working procedures as well as elaborating, proposing, and justifying measures to improve quality of manufacturing and costs.
  • Cooperation in Cross-Functional Project groups.
  • Planning and conducting workshops regarding specific problems 

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering/related field, or equivalent experience 
  • 5+ years of related experience in automotive manufacturing and vehicle electronics
  • 5+ years of related experience in vehicle electronics commissioning, testing and data management system
  • Project Management experience 
  • CAD/Prototyping Experience
  • Experience with: Automotive assembly, Lean/visual Systems, Continuous Improvement initiatives, Vehicle electronic system development

 

Preferred

  • Business Level Comprehension of German language
  • Master’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related Field
  • 5+ years with Volkswagen production system in the area of vehicle electric/electronic
  • Experience with Project Management Systems, Implementation of engineering changes, Maintenance System Development/Management, Robotic controls, PLC programming, Ergonomics, Logistics system development, Automotive facility start-up
