Summary

Develop and manage Vehicle Calibration/Testing/Rework systems in an automotive manufacturing environment to meet and exceed company goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the production process to ensure processes meet safety standards, quality standards, environmental, and OSHA regulations
  • Develop in-line test equipment to confirm quality of vehicle electronic system
  • Collaborate with vehicle design to resolve customer concerns
  • Create a continuous improvement environment to develop best in class production system
  • Coordinate production trials for model changes
  • Coordinate activities with the maintenance team to minimize production delays due to equipment issues
  • Develop systems to meet KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and analyze data to monitor performance and plan improvements
  • Identify requirements for maintenance and production resources to modify assembly systems to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost
  • Monitor safety, quality, cost, and productivity with improvement activities for assigned areas of production
  • Complete projects on schedule and within annual administrative, operational, and capital budgets
  • Provide direction and assistance to analyze production issues, propose countermeasures, and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with other production departments, quality, production control, and engineering to provide best in class product quality

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 3-5 years of related planning experience in automotive manufacturing
  • Demonstrated experience with:  
    • Positive employee relations / team building,
    • Automotive assembly
    • Lean / visual systems,
    • Continuous improvement initiatives,
    • Project management, Quality circles,
    • Vehicle electronic system development
    • Roll and Alignment Testing
    • Workshop/Automotive Repair Experience
    • Automation Integration/Troubleshooting

 

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in engineering
  • Experience with: ERP/MRP/EDI Systems, Implementation of engineering changes, Maintenance system development / management, Robotic controls, PLC programming, Assembly torque tools, Microstation or Catia design, Ergonomic assist development, Part delivery system development, Automotive facility start-up
