Summary

Lead an interdisciplinary team of experts to perform technical analysis of vehicles built in the Chattanooga assembly plant and establishment of countermeasures of topics for vehicles in the Field (Customer vehicle topics) . Leading the resolution of technical topics, assuring the implementation  of countermeasures for Series production and vehicle in the Field. Maximize the resources of the area such as vehicle fleets, equipment and tools in order to assure the correct analysis results in an economic, efficient and prompt manner. Manage resources needed to operate the Vehicle Analysis Center and assure the conformity of cars in regards of legal requirement, Technical Requirements Specifications. Release Pre-Serial Cars and Serial Cars for KAF’s, MAF’s, SoFa’s, WiFa’s and any kind of event cars together with Project Field Team.
 

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and track costs, deadlines, technology, and quality targets for the Vehicle Analysis Center as part of business planning.
  • Develop and monitor corrective measures to meet business plan targets.
  • Oversee site-related key quality metrics and ensure process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, environmental, safety, and corporate quality regulations.
  • Implement management controls to monitor process standards, product compliance, and occupational safety.
  • Establish and maintain a Quality Assurance system to ensure effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Supervise quality inspection procedures and ensure assembly process conformity.
  • Lead, develop, and manage the Quality Assurance Vehicle Analysis Center team.
  • Ensure employee training, qualification, and competency for all tasks.
  • Oversee personnel decisions, workforce planning, and employee development.
  • Maintain effective communication with factory leadership and stakeholders on product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee vehicle inspections, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for production and field complaints.
  • Manage release event cars, ensuring compliance with market and legal requirements.
  • Ensure all analysis activities are documented per ISO 900x standards.
  • Utilize inspection rooms, test labs, and analysis equipment to improve product quality.
  • Identify quality issues in production and implement preventive measures.
  • Develop early detection processes to eliminate recurring quality defects.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to implement process optimizations.
  • Establish guidelines and monitoring systems to measure the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Ensure continuous monitoring and analysis of field complaints and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Develop strategies to integrate learnings from current models into new model development.
  • Coordinate with global Volkswagen teams to align quality standards and best practices.
  • Ensure quality targets are met by tracking, analyzing, and improving product quality metrics.
  • Plan, equip, and maintain the Vehicle Analysis Center to support quality analysis and testing needs.
  • Manage department KPIs, budget, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure all required tools and equipment are up-to-date and calibrated.
  • Lead process audits and quality assessments to continuously improve efficiency

Qualifications

Required

  • 15+ years within automotive industry and 3-5 years managing staff of engineers
  • Engineering BS Degree or Equivalent Automotive relevant experience
  • Detailed knowledge about product
  • Advanced automotive background with VW product knowledge
  • Detailed technical experience with the entire vehicle; problem solving and process diagnosis
  • Knowledge of Volkswagen Quality policies, methodologies and standards
  • International working experience and understanding of cultural differences

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in engineering discipline or project management
  • German language skills
  • Spanish language skills
