The Scholar Program at Volkswagen Group of America offers university sophomores and above the opportunity to apply and expand their classroom knowledge through hands-on experience in our state-of-the-art production facility. This program also helps Volkswagen Chattanooga develop potential talent for future entry-level positions.
The program runs from August 11, 2025, to August 7, 2026. Participants work part-time (minimum of 15 hours per week during business hours) while classes are in session and full-time (up to 40 hours per week) during school breaks. To be eligible, candidates must be enrolled at an accredited post-secondary institution. Applicants who do not meet this requirement will not be considered.
Summary
The Financial Planning team plays a key role in managing Volkswagen Chattanooga’s financial health. This position offers exposure to all three key financial statements, providing a well-rounded understanding of corporate finance. As a Financial Planning Scholar, you will apply classroom concepts in a real-world setting, developing analytical and problem-solving skills while gaining insight into financial reporting and forecasting.
What You’ll Learn:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Work with financial statements and reporting standards.
- Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Analyze financial data and support business decisions.
- Forecasting & Planning: Contribute to financial projections and strategy development.
Responsibilities
- Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Ensure accuracy by reconciling general ledger accounts with supporting documentation. Identify discrepancies and resolve inconsistencies.
- Financial Forecasting: Assist in refining the Balance Sheet forecast model by identifying areas for improvement.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Use Excel and financial tools to analyze trends and generate insights.
Qualifications
Majors: Business, Finance, Accounting (or related fields).
Skills: Strong analytical abilities, problem-solving mindset, and attention to detail.
Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, financial modeling), Powerpoint (MS Office Suite)
