The internship program at Volkswagen Group of America Chattanooga Operations is intended to provide college / university students and recent graduates the opportunity to use and develop skills they have learned in the classroom by working at our state-of-the-art production facility, and to provide experience and insight into the culture.
Summary
Volkswagen Chattanooga Operations internships are full-time positions (40 hrs/week). Candidates will be expected to be available to work during normal business hours (Monday – Friday; exact hours will vary by position and some positions might require work on Saturdays). To be eligible for the internship program, candidates are required to be enrolled at an accredited post-secondary educational institution or have graduated from one within the 6 months prior to the start date of the internship. External candidates who do not meet this guideline will not be considered. This internship is scheduled to begin in June and end in December 2023.
Responsibilities
In the area of Manpower/Staffing support, the Intern will support with the Direct Hiring process of production team members. This will require working independently and under time pressure as well as the ability to communicate effectively with the recruiting team and job seekers. The Intern should be able to create spreadsheets/ work in Excel and with Power Point, as well as navigate an applicant tracking system. The position could support numerous activities such interviews and data tracking. Candidate must be able to perform duties in a timely manner according to an established schedule and succeed in a deadline-oriented environment.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business/HR or related discipline
- Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to structure and prioritize
- Strong communication skills
- Flexible schedule
- Ability to learn and work in an HR applicant tracking system
Preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel Outlook)
